Filip, a Slovakian Under 21’s international striker, signed for the Under 21’s squad hot on the heels of Spanish youngsters Guillermo Andres and Edu Campabadal.
The former Manchester City youngster arrived on a free transfer from Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente. He made an immediate impact for Latics on trial in early August 2012 when he netted the equaliser in the 2-2 pre season friendly draw with Stockport County at Edgley Park.
His first competitive game for the Blues was in a Capital One Cup third round game against West Ham United at Upton Park on 25th September 2012. He never made a League appearance for the club.
