Paul, a Kenny Swain signing from Bradford City made his Latics League debut as a substitute for Mick Kennedy on 31st August 1993 against Rochdale at Spotland, a game that resulted in a 2-0 victory for Latics.
He started the following game against Doncaster Rovers at Belle Vue but was injured and didn’t play another game that season.
