Paul, a Kenny Swain signing from Bradford City made his Latics League debut as a substitute for Mick Kennedy on 31st August 1993 against Rochdale at Spotland, a game that resulted in a 2-0 victory for Latics.
He started the following game against Doncaster Rovers at Belle Vue but was injured and didn’t play another game that season.
His next and final appearance for the club was on the opening day of the following 1994/95 season and he was released half way through it by Graham Barrow after failing to regain full fitness.
