Danny was signed by Kenny Swain from Crewe Alexandra for the start of season 1993/94.
During the pre season friendlies he looked to be a real good prospect and scored a hat trick against Skelmersdale United, a game in which he was the star of the show.
Great things were really expected of him. However, by the start of the season proper he was injured.
He made his Latics League debut on 21st August 1993 against Torquay United at Plainmoor.
The game resulted in a1-1 draw but Danny was substituted during the game by Neil Ogden after still feeling the after effects of his injury.
He was in fact to play just 2+2 League games for Latics without scoring before he had to retire from professional football.
