Chris was signed by Bryan Hamilton from Stalybridge Celtic in December 1991 and made his Latics League debut as a substitute on 28th December 1991 against Shrewsbury Town at at Springfield Park.
The game resulted in a 1-1 draw and Chris was to make just 4 League appearances as a substitute without scoring that season.
The following season was a little better for him and he made a further 11+9 League appearances, scoring 3 League goals before joining Altrincham on a free transfer for the start of season 1993/94.
He later scored the winning goal for Altrincham against Latics in a FA Cup Second Round game on 3rd December 1994.
The 1-0 win meant that 'Alty' went on to play Tottenham Hotspur in the next round.
