Jimmy joined Latics as a trainee in 1983, turning professional prior to season 1985/86.
He made his Latics League debut on 1st October 1985 against Walsall in a game at Springfield Park that resulted in a 2-0 victory.
He was only to play one more league game against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park for the Blues before signing for Southport in 1986.
